About Us

The Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service was established in 2022 to recognize and reward distinguished public service to Nigeria and Nigerians.

The first edition held at the Conference Center of the State House, Abuja, on October 21, 2022; a ceremony presided over by the then President, H.E. Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

At that first edition, 44 Nigerians, from the Federal and subnational governments, were awarded. Each recipient received a beautifully-crafted NEAPS plaque.

The second edition of NEAPS is scheduled to hold in June 2024. Forty distinguished Nigerians, from various walks of life, will be recognized and celebrated, at a colourful event in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

NEAPS will recognise and reward innovation, change, leadership and other exceptional demonstration of selfless public service delivery, with the greatest impact in Nigeria.

To qualify for an award, NEAPS recipients must have made significant contributions in public service. Winners will be those who have improved the quality of public service delivery, taken risks to achieve change, have unblemished and commendable public service record, made significant and notable contributions to a more democratic society and have helped in championing social equity.

NEAPS is a private-sector-led initiative, produced as a collaboration between TBS, a strategic communication and policy advisory entity, and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
